A Day For The Other Stuff

Every now and then you just need a day for the other stuff!

What other stuff? You know the things you put off until you have time to do them. Or those things that you say “when I get a round to it I’ll do it”.

You know, THOSE things.

Yesterday was one of those days for me. It started off with finally shutting down some services I rarely use or have migrated to other services. For example I’ve migrated almost all of my products to utilize a new service I’ve been working on developing with some good friends called PayBlue. This will allow me to shut down my shopping cart services and save a lot of money. Previously I had different carts for different projects and now I don’t need that but I had held on to them because I didn’t take the time to export the data I wanted to keep.

I also went through one of my Gmail accounts that had over 4400 unread email messages. Another one of those “I’ll get around to sorting and filtering one day” type of things. Yesterday was that day. I now have NO email in that in-box that has not been read or filed away if needed.

Something I’ve been meaning to do for years is to migrate all of my domains over to one central account. Over the years I had bought domains through a few locations  but since then I started my own domain reseller account and never transfered the domains there. Now ever thing is in one location more easily manage able. In the process of doing that I deleted several domains I had either quit using or decide the reason I bought the domain just wasn’t a good idea anymore. (Come on you’ve done that too.) 🙂

While I didn’t work on improving marketing, or developing more on a training course and things like that it is always good to take a day for the other stuff.

Some will say you should spend your time on things that make you money, If you think about taking a day to handle things such as this you are actually saving money. I’ll save money from the unneeded services I’m no longer using. Save time (which equals money) not wading through and searching for an email I needed. Or consolidating services so you know where to look for something when you need it.

I hope you too take a day for the other stuff, I’m sure you will feel the same satisfaction once you get some of those “some day” things crossed off your list.
