End of 2011 Planning

As we wrap up 2011 I’m curious what strategies you use to prepare for 2012. (Besides flipping the calendar)

What works best for you? Leave your tip or suggestion in the comments section below.

Thanks

    Hi Frank,

    I’m writing myself a letter, dated December 28, 2012.

This is the first time I’ve done this. I got the idea from John Carlton’s blog today. Here’s the link:
    http://www.john-carlton.com/2011/12/the-rest-of-your-freakin-life-re-redux/?link1

Essentially, I’m telling myself all about how things are for me a year from today, and the wonderful experiences I had during the year.

Check back with me a year from today to find out how well this worked.

That’s an interesting idea something to consider thanks for posting.

I normally take the last couple days to look at what ideas I wanted to do and didn’t, see where I could improve for the next year and then take care of some generally maintenance.

Thinks like go through my downloads folder and clean up unneeded files. clean up my in boxes from junk emails I didn’t delete in the hurriedness of the day!

I generally try to pick out a “theme” for the next year. At least one personal and one business and maybe the two will connect if possible.

The personal theme for me is something I started a month or so ago and want to focus on stronger. It’s my ABP plan Always be Positive and Always be Prayerful, I think those two things alone will make me an overall better person.

There is so much negativism these days and while I’m definitely not perfect I want to strive to not build upon it. As Momma always said “if you can’t says something nice don’t say anything at all.” 🙂 A very good friend pointed out that while I said I didn’t have anything to complain about I often did and that hit home when he brought that to light so I’ve been working on that very hard because that’s not the person I want to be. (Thanks Bret – I appreciate your frankness!)

The business theme for 2012 is “Growth”! I want to grow my business in a few ways working on improving communication, improving customer service, and growing my list and in doing so growing my income 😉 (something I’m sure we all want).

In 2011 at one point I gave my self a blog challenge to post Daily. I think I’m going to start 2012 that way. Maybe not a long drawn out post, maybe just a quick resource but that’s my first challenge.

I wish you all the best 2012 possible and Happy New Years!
