Wasted Traffic
People say traffic is one of the most important things you need for your online business. While I agree to a point, it does no good if there is no parking spots and you miss out on the traffic!
Let me explain you do need to send traffic to your online business. It’s not just a “build it and they will come” type of scenario.
I feel the reason so many suffer from lost traffic is the fact that they don’t have anything in place to pull them in off the “street” AKA information highway.
With a traditional store, you may see an advertisement or hear that a new store has opened. So you hop in the car and you drive down to the location and as you get closer you start making a decision, does this look like the type of place I want to stop and visit?
If the front of the store looks like a sign leaned up against a garage door, chances are you’re going to keep driving. Right?
And as the saying goes you don’t normally get a second chance to make a first impression.
The same is true with your online business. If you are spending money to send traffic to your website it better be “as advertised”.
You want to make sure your branding is consistent with your message, and that you’ve got information that makes them want to stay and read on to see what you are offering.
It is also a good idea to have mechanisms in place to get their name and email to follow up with them for an opportunity to come back and check out what else you have to offer.
In the online marketplace you have even less time to get them interested in what you are offering. Keep it clean, simple and inviting and get to the point or they’re off quickly to the next location.
