Important website issue

I’m not sure if this affects you – but I’ve noticed an issue that I just seen today with a recent cpanel upgrade.

It appears that an update to cPanel caused a change of the “default” page order on your website.

What does this mean?

Previously if you had index.html as your home page then it would be shown first before index.htm or index.php as the main page for your site or directory.

Apparently this has changed. and now index.htm takes precedence over index.html or index.php

So if for some reason you have an index.htm page in your web folder on your website that page is now being seen as the “default” page that visitors would see when coming to your website.

You might want to visit your web sites to be sure the page you are wanting visitors to see is actually the page being shown as the main page on your site.

I hope you find this post useful.
