Winning Big is About Making Adjustments

With several sports playoffs going on right now I noticed something about the teams that come out ahead and realized this “thing” is also very true in life and in your business…

If you know much about me at all you probably know that I’m a HUGE Chicago sports fan, and I follow several sports fairly close. One of the things I like about many of the sports is the strategies that take place during the game.

If you “really” watch in just about every game, adjustments are made, some are little adjustments like maybe changing cleats they are wearing on their shoes, or maybe trying a different golf club, or bat. Other times its bigger changes like personnel to get a better lineup against the other team.

These adjustments happen sometimes because a player may be stronger in one sense of the game than another. Or maybe the players haven’t faced each other and there is the element of the unknown that makes the difference.

Many times the coach or decision maker will make several changes through out the game testing to see what works and what doesn’t. Some times a player is just having a better day than another. Sometimes even, it’s just a matter of trying something that has never been tried before and this could be the game changer.

These little changes could also be game changers in your life and in your business.

Many times in our lives we get set in our ways and keep doing the same things, the same way because “they’ve always been done that way”.

The definition of insanity is : Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

When was the last time you did something “different” to see if it changes things? Maybe start your day a little different, take a different route to work. Get up 30 minutes earlier and take a short walk before the day starts or maybe take that 30 minutes and do some reading or listen to some music. Chances are you’ll start your day a little clearer or less hurried. If you’re worried about time set a 30 minute timer.

The same is also true for your business. When was the last time you tried something a bit different? Look at your website read over your content. Do the headlines still make sense? What if you changed some words around will you get different results? When was the last time you made a blog post? Did you just post it and forget it, or did you post it to social media, send a notice to your subscriber list.

Maybe you aren’t getting new subscribers, try taking a look at how people subscribe to your list. Possibly you don’t have a method for getting people to receive updates and notices from you. Maybe you do and it’s not working as well as you might think.

Making little “tweaks” in our life and/or business can change our outlook, it could be a “game changer” in our longevity or even in financial situation. Don’t get stagnate doing the same things over and over expecting things to change. Start making adjustments, start getting different results and hopefully you too will win big.
