Social Media Uses

I just got back from a meeting with some of the church staff where I assist where I assist with the church website. Our outreach pastor attended a recent seminar on social media and other avenues for “reaching out”.

He shared with me this really interesting video.

Of course as a marketer I use social media a lot for different reasons. I’m curious if you could comment below if you use social media (facebook, twitter, etc.) how you use social media, what social media sites do you use and what market are you in?

Of course you can connect with me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or LinkedIN.

I use social media for everything, and that’s probably why I became a social media manager. 🙂

I use it to keep in touch with my family. Sometimes I know more about my teenage niece and nephew than their parents just because of Facebook. I taught my mother about Facebook just so she could see what the grandkids were up to.

For clients and potential clients it is fabulous because it allows us to “touch” people so many different ways. We can learn about people we are going to meet at events. Look up people we have already met in order to refresh our memories. Connect with new people who may be interested in our products or services.

I love the way it helps and supports in building relationships and mostly the way we can stay connected. Just like I follow you on social media because I took 3 of your GREAT classes and one day I will meet you in person. You can be sure I will ask to see pictures of your grandchildren. 🙂

The one thing that always gives me a thrill every time is when I meet people for the first time and they are so excited because the “follow me on Twitter” and/or love my Facebook content!
